Confirm which trades are included before interpreting a dashboard. Check account or exercise, date range, timezone, instrument filters, fees and trade count. A filter change can move every headline number without any change in the underlying trading process.
Read average outcome alongside win rate, average win and average loss. Check the equity path and drawdown next; the ending balance does not reveal how difficult the path was. The statistics reference explains the definitions.
Investigate the distribution
Compare a setup or session with the overall sample, retaining the number of observations. Look for dependence on one exceptional trade or day. Review the original journal entries before concluding that a time, direction or instrument caused better results.
